how I wish...

An album with a coffee stain,
Another trip down memory lane...
Revisiting the 'Happy' and the 'Sad'.
Days of gloom and days of glory,
Every picture has a story,
A 'movie' of the times that we've all had...

And when I turn the page
To a different time, a different age,
An emptiness turns the joy into sorrow...
All those things that you'd say -
It seems just like yesterday!
How I wish that you were there for Tomorrow...

So many envelopes and letters,
That talk of 'bests' and 'even-betters'...
And cupboards full of junk and even more!
I have yet another drink,
Now I'm beginning to think
You'll be walking in right-now through that door.

When I turn another page
To a different time, a different age,
An emptiness turns the joy into sorrow...
All those things that you'd say -
It seems just like yesterday!
How I wish that you were there for Tomorrow...

This brought back all the Saraswati Pujo memories, albeit musty and sepia-toned :) Very well written.
