jerry's song...

Back then, when I could 'fly',

Before they clipped my wings,

I used to be that special guy

Who could do those fancy things...

But that was then and this is now;

I often sit and wonder how,

While Jacob strums on his guitar and Jerry sings...

I can no longer recall the words he said,

As my fist went crashing into the side of his head -

He fell right to the floor and just died!

Then I remembered her face,

The shame, the disgrace,

And how she'll never find a safe place to hide...

On that goddamn day,

I would've gotten away,

If Martha and Jenny hadn't lied!

The Judge was King, glaring back in rage,

And I, the Jester, centre-stage -

The verdict was but obvious all along!

Then I remembered her face,

The shame, the disgrace,

Yes, I was sure I'd done no wrong.

And on that fateful day,

As they were locking me away,

In my head, I was singing Jerry's song...

Back then, when I could 'fly',

Before they clipped my wings,

I used to be that 'special' guy

Who could do those 'fancy' things...

My past, severe, is still unclear;

I ask for yet another beer,

While Jacob strums on his guitar and Jerry sings...
